The newly redesigned website of the New Jersey District of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod goes live today on the World Wide Web.

NJDistrict.org aims to serve the needs of pastors and rostered workers, staff and lay persons of the district's congregations.

The new website, designed by Chris Strom and Daniel Bergquist, features expanded content and a blog-format news section designed to keep constituents updated on important issues and events within the district. The redesign incorporates a new color scheme and graphics, and completely new navigational tools.

Among the items on NJDistrict.org's new homepage, the "Featured Item" figures most prominently-- with a bold headline and graphic drawing the visitor's attention to the current news or event feature.

"Ministries" allows the visitor to view detailed information about the various missions and services provided by the district, such as conventions, deaf ministry, LWML, stewardship, and youth.

Visitors can subscribe for the district's e-News email updates under the "News" tab. The most recent news items will be visible in the News section, with monthly archives and a "tag cloud" (allowing visitors to search according to key word) accessible in the right hand column.

"Resources" gives visitors a broader view of the district at work-- with photo galleries, a YouTube channel (for videos), and access to the District Resource Library (items available for check out by congregations, rostered workers or lay persons).

Currently featured on the home page of NJDistrict.org is news about the 2009 District Convention. Daily news from the convention, including elections results and resolutions brought to the floor, will be reported on the newly redesigned site.
